Griddig Dan Mihalovich, a seasoned CRE vet, developed Griddig to better organize the entire leasing process from marketing to build-out. Currently pre-populated with assessor data for the greater San Francisco area, Griddig plans to expand to other cities using this first market as an example of the efficiency that transparent data, useful tools and collaboration can bring to the process. Owner or listing agents can claim buildings, add any kind of document imaginable, link to property … [Read more...]
The Problem with Collaboration by App
At a recent tech presentation, Brandon Weber of Hightower said one of the reasons he developed the lease management app was because the platform used before – the CRM – has never been effective. That’s for sure. Even if a CRM app had a deal tracing, opportunities or a project management feature, most agents never used it. Plus, CRMs were stuck on a desktop. But even cloud CRMs that allow for multi-user access… Maybe it’s different elsewhere, but agents just don’t use that feature for … [Read more...]
Inside SIOR’s CRE Tech Sessions
Last week I attended SIOR’s Fall Convention in Chicago. There were several sessions on CRE tech – and I went to all of them! Here’s my highlight reel from these excellent presentations (nice job, SIOR and panelists!). According to Steve Weikal of MIT’s Center for Real Estate, what’s driving the technology boom in CRE is the realization that CRE is a big market ($) and a rush to service institutional investors who have become increasingly involved in CRE. In their sayonara post, Google pointed to low usage but also suggested that the search and map models may not be the best way for users to find real estate. The Atlantic Monthly questioned the low usage excuse … [Read more...]
App News Featuring Lease Matrix and Pushbullet
Lease Matrix Cloud based Lease Matrix keeps adding more features to their “drop dead simple” lease analysis tools. Users can invite clients or colleagues to share lease docs which they can edit/collaborate online - a great way to keep versions under control. A new summary report shows data for selected properties in a compact format for easy comparisons. Plus, several new templates have been added for even faster lease analysis proposals. Fields you select are auto-populated plus you can … [Read more...]
What Users Expect from Your App
Everyone wants to disrupt the commercial real estate industry. Whether it’s a different kind of marketing platform, business process automation, new ways to finance or getting rid of the middleman, CRE disrupters are on it. But disruption doesn’t happen just because someone wants it to. That’s because disruption is a two way street. And this quote from Jeff Bezos makes that clear: “We don’t seek to disrupt, we seek to delight. If you invent something completely new and radical and … [Read more...]
