Government (federal at least) by law is supposed to be making most public data available but it’s such a mess that it’s taking forever – and they’ve wasted a lot of money doing it. They should outsource it.

Interesting site you have, btw. Clever how you get to capture all that info for a property so the owner can see their cap rate…

Chris — thanks for your post. Our team is betting on the value of CRE big data as well. I was particularly interested in your reference to ‘personalization’. We call it ‘predictive modeling’ and are leveraging CRE data to predict future transactions.

Chris…once again, great insight. This is a topic that I am certainly passionate about. My whole company revolves around making sense of “big data”. I truly believe the govt should be instrumental in the collection and dissemination of information. The more the better. This is one area where they could excel and help promote new ideas and business, because there will be those individuals that will take that data and change the world! I will step off the soapbox now.
